Date: 2025-09-13
Status: Version 1.1.2 Release - Validation Enhancement (COMPLETE)

🎯 CURRENT FOCUS

VERSION 1.1.2 RELEASE: Validation Enhancement

Task Level: Level 2 (Simple Enhancement)
Complexity: Modify existing validation logic to separate general and deep validation
Estimated Time: 2-3 hours

Objective

Separate validation into two distinct modes:

  1. General Validation (validate command) - Fast structure validation for common node properties
  2. Deep Validation (deep-validate command) - Schema-based validation for specific node types

Key Requirements

  • ✅ General Validation: Check common node properties (id, name, type, typeVersion, position)
  • ✅ Deep Validation: Schema-based validation for specific node types
  • ✅ Backward Compatibility: Existing functionality preserved with --deep flag
  • ✅ Performance: General validation significantly faster than deep validation
  • ✅ Documentation: Keep deep-validate command undocumented as requested

Implementation Phases

  1. Phase 1: Create General Node Validation Rule (45 min)
  2. Phase 2: Refactor CLI Commands (30 min)
  3. Phase 3: Update Core Validation Logic (60 min)
  4. Phase 4: Update Tests (45 min)
  5. Phase 5: Integration Testing (30 min)

Status: ✅ COMPLETE

Implementation Results

  • ✅ General Validation: validate command now performs fast structure validation for common node properties
  • ✅ Deep Validation: deep-validate command provides comprehensive schema-based validation
  • ✅ Backward Compatibility: Existing functionality preserved with --deep flag on validate command
  • ✅ Performance: General validation is significantly faster (no schema lookups)
  • ✅ CLI Enhancement: New deep-validate command available (kept undocumented as requested)
  • ✅ Test Coverage: All 87 tests passing with updated validation logic
  • ✅ Error Handling: Clear, specific error messages for both validation modes

Key Features Implemented

  1. ValidationMode Enum: GENERAL and DEEP validation modes
  2. GeneralNodeValidationRule: Validates common properties (id, name, type, typeVersion, position)
  3. Updated CLI Commands: validate with --deep flag and new deep-validate command
  4. Enhanced ValidationEngine: Supports both validation modes with appropriate rule sets
  5. Comprehensive Testing: Updated all tests to work with new validation modes

Version 1.1.2 Release Status

  • ✅ Version Bump: Updated to 1.1.2 across all files
  • ✅ CI/CD Tests: All 87 tests passing (100% pass rate)
  • ✅ Code Quality: Ruff linting, MyPy type checking, and formatting checks passed
  • ✅ Security: Safety and Bandit security scans passed (0 vulnerabilities)
  • ✅ Build Process: Package builds successfully with both wheel and source distributions
  • ✅ Documentation: Updated HISTORY.md with v1.1.2 release notes
  • ✅ GitHub Actions: Updated deploy workflow with new version default
  • ✅ CLI Verification: Version command displays correct version (1.1.2)
